Yes, I almost cried when Wikipedia exclaimed that planking is just a fad. Well, maybe the lazy, yet hilarious, version of planking was a fad but the intense abdominal and back strengthening exercise lives on.

I love The Plank, it’s a great exercise that works the whole core and works on overall coordination and strength. I believe it’s far superior to crunches or normal abdominal workouts as the research is starting to indicate those traditional abdominal exercises hurt the normal low back curve.
