What Does Graston Technique Do?

Like Active Release Technique, Graston Technique breaks down the scar tissues formed due to overuse of muscles or injuries. It is the instrument-assisted mobilization of soft tissues,  primarily targeting fascia, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.

This therapy helps the practitioner locate areas of restriction and increase blood flow in that area by massaging. Consequently, the healing rate of the affected tissue is increased. Graston Technique:

  • Removes the scar tissues and fascia restrictions
  • Stretches the connective tissues and rearrange the soft tissue structure
  • Enhances Healing Process

Let’s secure the rapid healing rate with our top-rated clinical advisors

Graston Technique for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is common in athletes and those who overuse their feet. It leads to the breakdown of the scar tissues and adhesion. By using the Graston technique, blood flow is increased, promoting the healing process of the fascia band.

This technique is not a one-time procedure. While some patients show significant improvements after a couple of sessions, it can take 8 to 10 sessions to get maximum benefits.

After the massage, the patients are asked to do light stretching, movement impairment, and strengthening exercises. Then the practitioner may apply ice therapy to reduce the swelling and pain.

The Graston Technique tools have a slight curve that provides effective rubbing and helps detect the injured fibrotic tissue.

How ProActive Chiropractic Perform Graston Technique

How ProActive Chiropractic Perform Graston Technique?

If you are suffering from any such painful condition, the Graston Technique massage may help you back to your daily life routine.

ProActive Chiropractic has certified Graston Technique clinicians in the San Francisco area. With various services available at our office, we are here to keep you performing and living the best life throughout.

The brushing of the Graston Technique instrument against the scar tissue surface provides a cross-friction massage. The practitioner incites a small amount of trauma using specific strokes and pressure to the injured area and temporarily induces inflammation, leading to increased blood flow in and around that area.

At ProActive Chiropractic, you’ll be given the treatment for your back and also for hip flexor, abdomen, hamstrings, and shoulders that are connected through the fascial web.
