Dr. Cohen grew up with chiropractic and the wellness lifestyle that he now teaches his patients. His father is an acupuncturist and chiropractor and his beloved aunt practiced functional medicine, nutrition, and chiropractic, so his professional training started years before he even entered chiropractic school. He feels privileged to be part of a profession that simultaneously helps heal people and teaches them to take care of themselves.
After volunteering in clinics in Bali, Uganda, and India, he settled down in the Bay Area to create a chiropractic clinic catering to active individuals who want lasting change. In the last decade, he’s been actively involved with Team USA and The Olympic Training Centers, even working the 2016 and 2020 (2021) Olympic Trials and International World Games in 2022.
His practice emphasizes prevention because it is more sustainable and cost-effective. By teaching people to be conscious of how they treat their bodies, their health becomes a way of life rather than something that needs patching up. He takes time to talk with them about their options, helping them set health goals mindful of the fact that health is more than the absence of disease.
When Dr. Cohen isn’t with patients, he can be found running, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking with his wife and dog. Lately he’s taken up pickleball with a rotating crew of old friends and, lest you think he is always being healthy, his friends assure you that he’s their reliable mezcal advisor and that he has strong opinions on chocolate chip cookies.
