Reinventing your chiropractic experience
We offer unique diagnosis to fix pain fast Book AppointmentOur Approach
We don’t need to see you 3 times per week for the rest of your life. There are too many people who really need care whom we want to help. It takes a little more time to teach you as the patient how to be involved in your care, but the payoff is exponential for you.
At ProActive Chiropractic, we relieve pain and give you individualized home care instructions. Then we teach you how to maintain and improve your general health in order to prevent further pain and disorders.
We take a holistic approach to integrating chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology. Applied Kinesiology combines structural, emotional, and chemical/nutrition aspects of health to find the triggers of your imbalance and pain. Other tools include blood chemistry lab testing, exercise, stress management techniques, ergonomics, and posture and movement analysis.
We recognize that your body has the incredible power to heal itself. Most people merely lack the knowledge and skills to take control of their own health needs. Our goal is to help you acquire that vital knowledge and to empower you to be proactive about your health.
Our doctors:
Andrew C. Cohen, DC, CCSP®
Dr. Cohen grew up with chiropractic and the wellness lifestyle that he now teaches his patients. His father is an acupuncturist, naturopath, and chiropractor and his aunt practiced functional medicine, nutrition, and chiropractic, so his professional training started years before he even started chiropractic school. He feels privileged to be part of a profession that simultaneously helps heal people and teaches them to take care of themselves.
After traveling to Bali and Uganda, and India, he settled down in the Bay Area to create a chiropractic clinic catering to active individuals who want lasting change. In the last few years he’s become very involved with Team USA and the Olympic Training Center, even working the 2016 Olympic Trials.
His practice emphasizes prevention because it is more sustainable and cost effective. By teaching people to be conscious of how they treat their bodies, their health becomes a way of life rather than something that needs patching up. He takes time to talk with them about their options, helping them set health goals mindful of the fact that health is more than absence of disease.
When Dr. Cohen isn’t with patients he can be found running, snowboarding, going on hikes with his wife and giant labradoodle, oh yeah… and he’s pretty serious about thumb wrestling.

Dr. Nancy Chu, DC
In 2014, Dr. Chu participated in an NFL combine training center where she was exposed to an integrative setting of athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists, physical therapists, and chiropractors. She wanted to do it all.
It was then that she realized how chiropractors really can do it all: tape and stretch like an athletic trainer, provide a strength training program like a conditioning coach, give nutritional advice like a nutritionist, administer soft tissue mobilization like a physical therapist, and most importantly – adjust. The endless tools and techniques chiropractic has to better a person’s quality of life to pursue what they love is more than enough to spark Dr. Chu’s passion to enter the chiropractic field.
She understands that no two bodies are the same and that people need personalized treatment plans that cater to their specific diagnoses.
Dr. Chu uses her expertise and experience in diverse chiropractic manipulative techniques, nutrition, rehabilitation, and certifications in Full Body IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), Full Body Neuromuscular Taping, and Full Spine ART to thoroughly assist and treat her patients.
She is a self-proclaimed Foodie and Happy Hour Queen, and can be seen practicing yoga, cycling, hiking, sunbathing, or socializing with her family and friends in her spare time.
